Weekly Wellness Tips: Sunlight

Did you know sunlight is good for your skin and even your eyes? Make sure you expose your skin and eyes to natural light daily, ideally for at least 20 minutes. Unfiltered sunlight exposure will:

-Provide your body with the building blocks to synthesize vitamin D (especially important during winter months at northern latitudes)
-Provide relief from SAD, or seasonal affective disorder
-Code your brain to produce hormones that regulate natural sleep/wake cycles
-Signal the body to produce natural sun protection and may prevent or reduce sunburn

Go outside and leave the sunglasses and chemical sunblock at home!
