My Philosophy Concerning Your Health: Three Levels of Care
1. Relief Care
This is where we address your immediate concerns surrounding symptoms: you
don’t feel well and you have very specific complaints that need to be addressed
in order to improve the quality of your life. I will provide every means at my
disposal to relieve your symptoms as fast as possible. However, I draw a clear
line between symptom relief and symptom suppression. Symptom suppression
merely turns the “signal” off or covers it up without addressing underlying
imbalances. This approach is often effective in the short term but can many times
lead to different and even more complicated symptoms in the future.
2. Corrective Care
Health is about more than how we feel. Even if your symptoms are quickly
relieved, symptom free does not necessarily mean illness free. Other than in
acute conditions, symptoms do not suddenly appear. The underlying imbalances
that lead to symptoms most often develop over long periods of time. Symptoms
are terminal indicators or final warning signs that an imbalanced state has
persisted for a longer period of time than that to which the body was capable of
adapting. Symptoms are simply the last resort the body has in telling you that you
are either not properly caring for yourself or something has gone wrong.
Corrective care additionally takes into account underlying imbalances in the form
of signs and bioenergetic markers which help explain the reasons for not feeling
well. Your attention to these imbalances needs to continue even after symptoms
are relieved if long term success is to be achieved. In some cases initial efforts at
relief care will not succeed until underlying imbalances are addressed. There are
times symptoms cannot be alleviated until corrective measures are taken as well.
You did not become sick overnight and therefore patience is required.
3. Wellness Care
Maintaining your health and maximizing your preventive capabilities are goals we
share in common. Therefore, I provide periodic, ongoing measurement of key
bioenergetic and bio terrain markers that do not require office visits to implement.
By re-testing once or twice a year you can help you maintain your health long
term by attending to imbalances in their early stages when symptoms are minor
or have not yet surfaced.
